Herbs
Chinese herbs have been used for centuries; the most common elements used are plant elements and extracts. Extracts are decoctions that have been condensed into a granular or powdered form and then into a capsule, which are easy and convenient to take.
Herbs are different to Western therapies, as Eastern therapies work to help the root of the problem, whereas Western therapies tend to help the symptoms.
An example of this is; if a person is suffering with anxiety or depression and they visit a Western doctor, they will likely be offered an anti-depressant; although these may help the symptoms whilst taking them, they are known to be very addictive and the symptoms are still there once the person has stopped taking them. On the other hand, if the sufferer were to visit an Eastern doctor (me for instance), they will be offered the treatment of acupuncture and herbs to address the root of the problem and herbs are not addictive.
